The girl, whose name was not released pending family notification, wrecked her Nissan Altima near mile marker 55.2 in Hopkinton just after 1 p.m., Massachusetts State Police said. When troopers arrived, the car was in flames.
Authorities pronounced the driver dead at the scene after they extinguished the fire. Police contained, cleaned, and cleared the area by 6 p.m.
State police and the Office of Chief Medical Examiner are investigating the circumstances leading to the crash.
